About The Hot Seat Sports Talk
The Hot Seat Sports Talk is a sports talk show that originated out of Fraser High School in Fraser, Michigan just about 30 minutes east of Detroit. The show was created by Aron Geml and Joe Arnold when the two of them had a sports argument over lunch in November of 2016. After the two cooled down Joe said to Aron, " Wouldn't it be cool if we had a our show like First Take on ESPN?" After the two pitched the idea, The Hot Seat Sports Talk was born...well not exactly.
The shows original name was called Double A Sports Talk Starring Aron & Arnold. The two would start as a radio podcast on Soundcloud and the first show was released on December 12th, 2016. When Joe was unavailable to do the show, he called upon his friends Eric Higgins and Brian Alder to guest host. Eventually all four of them would do the show together. The show would remain radio all the way up to the season finale when the show made its full switch to a broadcast production.
At the end of season one, Joe announced that he will not be returning due to him switching schools so the show introduced Jakob Donnelly and Ben Clark as a part the crew for season 2. Season 2 would also be the last full season on Fraser High Schools youtube channel before going independent and making their own channel.
In season 3 of the show, Hunter Colden was added to the Farewell Season of the show. On May 28th, 2019 after going for 3 years and producing 88 episodes total, the show signed off and the cast went their separate ways to their different universities. The show would remain off the air until March 27, 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. This gave the guys a unique opportunity to bring the show back in different locations. The show for that particular season would be called The Revival. The show would be in produce 3 more seasons after the revival until it was announced in 2021 that the 7th season would be the final season ending around the 5th year anniversary of the show celebrating 50 different guest stars in 5 years! The show concluded on December 1st 2021. After 5 years, 50 guest stars, 135 shows The Hot seat Sports Talk wrapped production for good.
